Bornuur sum is located in the northern part of the Tuv aimag and covers an area of 114.68 km2. The soum belongs to the forest-steppe and mountain-steppe zones. The main purpose of the study was to determine the chemical composition and yield of hay, grass and soil. Compared to other researchers, our study was innovative in some context, and during the study, we recorded 80 species of 62 genera from 24 families in hayfield. The average utilization of the total hay area was around 80 percent, above 22.09±13.04 cm, and the yield was approximately 870 kg/gr. The soil cover of the hayfield contained the chemical properties of dark brown soils distributed in the forest steppe and Gobi brown soils of Mongolia. Trace elements and heavy metals in the soil are very harmful not only to human, animal and plant health but also to the environment. The soil characteristics in the back and mountainous areas were pH 6.34-6.77, organic carbon 17-14.3%, humus 6.13-5.09, so the plant cover needs to be studied along with the soil.
